‘Would a pilgrim think this is witchcraft?’: Woman hilariously judges contemporary viral videos and debates whether they would’ve burned for it in the 1600s

The Salem Witch trials were a brutal time when mostly women, but also a few men, were burned at the stake for being «witches.» The truth was much more sinister, however, and to grossly sum it up, it was all a power play. If you were a woman who so much as sneezed the wrong way, WTICH. Stoned! Burned! Drowned! You were a goner. Thankfully, it’s not like those time in 1692-693; we are not pilgrims. We are an evolved (mostly…) society that mostly doesn’t even believe in witchcraft, definitely not in the way that the pilgrims did. It’s funny to think about it. If a woman spoke louder than a man, she would most likely be deemed a witch. Now, as a woman, I will speak over whomever I feel like and not think twice about it. «You wanna see a witch?! I’ll show you a witch, speak over me one more damn time.»

An influencer has taken this idea and turned it into a hilarious series on TikTok. She takes contemporary viral videos and deems why they would be considered witchcraft. There is only ONE video out of almost a dozen now and it’s because it’s a jar…
