When I was a kid, I was never a Lunchables consumer. I could not understand the appeal of eating rubbery deli meat and cheese on crackers for lunch. In my mind, there was no way that would be enough to tide me over for the rest of the school day. I was especially disgusted by the uncooked pizza that kids would chow down on, but I would keep my mouth shut and thank the heavens my mom packed me a turkey sandwich instead. 

My childhood instincts might’ve been correct, as news recently came out that Lunchables have a high lead concentration. I’m not a scientist, but if my kid got more than half of the daily limit of lead consumption from an already expensive package of crackers, meats, and cheeses, I would stop serving it to them.
