I like sci-fi, but I only love a very specific type. I love science fiction double features from the 1950s. You know the type: they feel like they were made in approximately 48 hours on a budget of a buffalo nickel, and that’s because they probably were! In the mid-century, a lot of movie theaters did a double bill, so you’d pay to watch one movie and get to watch two movies! The first one was a more prestigious movie, and the other was a B movie, which was often a sci-fi or other genre flick. Although there are some 50s sci-fi films that are considered quality cinema (Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Incredible Shrinking Man are two fantastic B movies), most of them are remembered for their cheap quality and their awesome posters. Attack of the 50 Foot Woman is the worst movie ever, but it sure has an incredible poster. If you’re more into sci-fi from the 70s and beyond, these sci-fi memes might suit your fancy.
