Another day, another amorphous blob of random internet images that we’ve tricked ourselves into believing we need to consume for fun. While these memes may cover a number of different themes and styles, many of us just enjoy the pleasant numbing experience that comes through scrolling through them, one by one, and then making it onto the next list. Many of the memes presented here probably aren’t going to be all that memorable, and neither is the experience of looking through them all in order to distract or entertain yourself. Nevertheless, they bring some of that sweet, sweet relief that comes in the form of internet dopamine. We can spend all our time overthinking why we want this and what it means, or we could simply enjoy the memes as they come. Every so often, it’s just nice to enjoy the ride without having to define it, or think about it too hard.
