Man pressures his husband’s 16-year-old son to let him adopt him, dismisses his non-biological father who passed before he was born: ‘He always brought up that it was a miracle he’s even on [the] birth certificate’

Just because a parent passes away before their baby is born doesn’t make them any less of a parent. That even applies when the late parent isn’t biologically related to the child. This story follows the son of a gay couple who never got to know his «daddy,» as he calls him. While his living dad keeps his late partner’s memory alive, his current husband (Sam) consistently tries to dismiss the deceased father in front of his son. Sam is ruthless in asking the teen if he’ll let him adopt him despite his answer consistently being «no.» The teenager says he doesn’t want Sam taking care of him if he becomes an orphan, which, IMHO, is extremely telling about how tenuous their relationship is. After Sam called his late father his «stepdad,» the two fight, leaving the teen wondering if he is the bad guy in this situation, which is so far from the truth.
