One man’s quest for a kid-free grocery store sparks discourse about children in public spaces: ‘You are not entitled to a world without kids’

Even if you’re the biggest kid person in the world, you have to admit that kids can be pretty annoying sometimes. They lack self-awareness, are good at bumping into things, and are generally unpredictable. That’s why we have rules about kids in certain spaces. But one Twitter user recently sparked some vitriol when he suggested another place that should have a child-free option.

Online discourse usually just sways in a direction of hater-ness, no matter where it is directed. If you’ve got an opinion on Twitter, odds are it’s the wrong one. But the tides seem to be turning away from the casual kid-hating made famous by millennials and toward a more pro-kid atmosphere. Is it just another sociological trend cycle? Or are we becoming a more accepting society? We may never have the answer. But we can get deep into Twitter discourse, and this thread is the perfect place to start.
