Ah, Minnesota. It’s the land of 10,000 lakes, the birthplace of Prince, and the only US state to have a motto in French. It probably has some other claims to fame as well, but the one we’re focused on today is of a very recent and viral nature. The upper Midwestern state has brought a much-needed dose of humor to the internet with a competition to redesign its current flag.

It seems like this contest had pretty much no barrier to entry — and we couldn’t be more thankful when we look at the results. Some Twitter users took it upon themselves to comb through these prospective winners, finding a truly wondrous spectrum of creativity. I can’t speak for the practicality of certain entries, but they’re definitely a sight for sore eyes. One thing’s for sure, these artistic Minnesotans have a sense of humor that is to be reckoned with.
