As Kurt Vonnegut wrote, «Busy, busy, busy, is what we Bokononists whisper whenever we think of how complicated and unpredictable the machinery of life really is.» The concept of «busyness» covers a world of meaning in the English language. You can answer the question «How have ya been?» with «busy,» and that is simultaneously an acceptable answer, but reveals virtually nothing about you. Busy can mean that your life is stacked with plans and that your G-Cal looks more like a stained glass window than it does a Mondrian. Busy can also mean that you’re avoiding making plans because you value your free time. Busy can also mean that you’re just avoiding the question. 

They say that if you want something done, you should give it to a busy person. It may seem counterintuitive, but busy people tend to be efficient with their time. They’re already on a roll of getting things done, so they might as well add some more.
