Star Wars fans know how to party. If by party, you mean watch Rogue One for the 49th time. We know how to do that so well that we do it effortlessly. There’s something nice about rewatching a film a multitude of times.
We do it with songs and no one bats an eye- we’ve listened to our favorite songs hundreds, if not thousands, of times and we never get sick of it. But watch Empire Strikes Back more than 10 times and suddenly you’re a freak. Sure, songs are usually under 4 minutes and Empire Strikes Back is over two hours, but still. Just because we know what’s going to happen doesn’t mean we don’t want to watch them do it. It’s just as pleasing as it was the first time. I think we need to normalize re-watching movies. You can learn so much on a rewatch that you were distracted from the first time around.
