I’m a lizard.
Happiest when I’m basking in the sun, skittering my way through life, and beaming when I find a crunchy little snack, it’s clear that life is good when it is simplified. We’re raised to believe that MORE in this world will make us happier, but I find that fewer distractions from meaningful moments give us a greater opportunity to appreciate them. We have so much joy and mirth around us all the time, sometimes it’s just invisible to us. Open your eyes, my happy-go-lucky friend, and enjoy the smaller things in life that perpetually boost your serotonin.
Imagine a refreshing breeze on a hot day, or the little treat of an iced coffee that you’ve been dreaming of all week, or even sitting in your car when you’re in a rush and realizing you have a full gas tank. Amazing! While seemingly minuscule, something good happens every day. Sometimes you just have to squint to see it.
