Entitled customer berates delivery driver for being 20 minutes late on her 1st day on the job: ‘DoorDash driver was utterly incompetent so I went off on her. I hate incompetence.’

We’ve been debating whether it’s ethical to order a private taxi for your hamburger for what seems like an eternity. In reality, DoorDash discourse has only been around for about 5 years, but it’s safe to say that the pro-treat people have won. The public at large does not see anything wrong with ordering food delivery regularly, regardless of the impact on one’s body or wallet. They don’t even see anything wrong with not tipping your delivery driver who’s making below minimum wage. I don’t like it, but that’s the world we live in these days.

If you’re going to refuse to walk or drive to your nearest Popeyes, you should at least treat the person who’s picking up your food for you with dignity. It’s not fun or easy to cater to hungry people’s demands all day. If your driver is a couple of minutes late, you shouldn’t report them and put them at risk for losing their job.
