Give it up for the dads. I love dad culture. It’s similar to Midwest culture. It revolved around corny jokes, preparing meat, and not taking things too seriously. I love it when a dad does a bit with a server at a restaurant. It’s like hearing a cow say «moo.» Even better when you see them click tongs twice before using them since those are the rules. And best yet when a dad texts you something out of the blue that makes them think of you. Maybe it was a song or a reminder that you should rotate your tires every 6 months. It’s how you know he’s looking out for you.
Being a dad can mean a lot of things. First and foremost, it’s about rearing a child (aka doling out un-asked for advice and folksy wisdom). Then, it’s about embracing your soft side (aka being against adopting a dog and then eventually becoming its best friend). And finally, it’s about getting a little goofy (aka having a dad joke ready for every subject).
