How you run your household is your business. Family members interject with a few comments now and then (as family members do, with or without your permission), at the end of the day, many of us live by the ‘My house, my rules’ clause. Outsiders may have their opinions, but ultimately, it’s not up to them how your household functions.
This became extremely evident for the family in this next story after unseen tensions rose in the kitchen.
Not every woman was born to be a homemaker. Despite what ol’ Meemaw thinks, being born with two X chromosomes doesn’t make you automatically a top chef, an in-home laundromat, or a dutiful housekeeper. Keeping up with household chores, especially cooking, is a tough challenge to tackle for any family, so it’s not uncommon for each family member to pull their weight at mealtime. However, sometimes in-laws can feel entitled to step in, make their judgments, and throw a wrench into a well-oiled machine. At least in the case of this next family, the wife would not take this scrutiny without a fight.
