Anyone who grew up as the oldest sibling knows the drill — you’re often handed responsibilities way beyond your years. But for one woman, being the eldest turned into years of acting more like a third parent than a kid.
She shared that ever since she was young, her divorced parents relied on her to constantly babysit her step- and half-siblings. They’d drop the kids off without warning, even if it meant she missed school or work. But her parents didn’t stop, she was still expected to watch the kids, cook, and clean while somehow keeping up with her studies.
When she finally moved into her own apartment at 19, she hoped things would change. But instead, her parents just started bringing the kids to her place, again with no notice. She even lost jobs because of it, and instead of being concerned, her parents told her this was «good» because now she could babysit full-time.
