I love being from the Midwest. We have a sense of humility that doesn’t come as naturally to other people. We can’t help it, we’re from the flatlands so we don’t hide behind pretension. You’d be hard-pressed to find a pretentious Midwesterner, except for when it comes to consuming cheese and beer. We get pretty picky about that. You can’t rock up to a party with some shredded Sargento and call it a day. No, we’re in dairy country. You have to put some effort into your cheese offerings. And as much as we love a low-brow cheap beer, it better have been made in the Midwest, or else you’re out of the party. 

There are a few things we take seriously, but the rest is just about vibes. If you have the right vibes in the eyes of a Midwesterner, then you’re good. You don’t need to look any further.
