Art is impactful and provokes emotion and thought processes. Don’t memes do the same thing? That’s what I thought… Maybe some day, my curated collection of classical art memes will find its rightful place in the Louvre or the Met. One can only dream…
Now, classical art memes reserve the right to be placed in a different category of memes because it is genre-dependent. What do I mean by this? I kind of don’t know—but what I do know is that the concept of classical art memes should be separated from stage five brain-rot. They provoke different feelings, emulate different essences of wit, and one might be more intellectual than the other…might be.
Though art can be just as boring as it can be interesting and impactful, the important part of the classical art memes is that they raise questions about human existence. What did the artist intend to portray in this portrait? Were they giggling just the same as us, as their brush strokes stained the easel? So many questions…
