Greetings, nerds. It’s Tuesday again. It would be easily be the worst day of the week were it not for the immense joy we derive from supplying you with that weekly serving of Lord of the Rings content. If you’re hardcore fans – or even if you just happened to have been watching Super Bowl LVI – you have probably seen the teaser trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. While it was a short glimpse at the long-awaited (and for some, long-dreaded) series, it was enough to ignite even more debate over the Amazon series. We had hoped that the outcry over the casting of POC actors would die down, but sadly it has continued to be a hot button issue.

 The drama has led to an influx of memes dedicated to the matter, which has made a lot of our favorite LOTR meme communities feel a lot more boring. Despite this, we’ve managed to collect a ton of memes that have absolutely nothing to do with the increasingly dull controversy. There are a few that feature scenes from the trailer, and one that mocks the outcry, but this is a pretty safe space that keeps to what we care about: stupid and funny memes about the movies (and books) we love.
