It seems as though when you’re a kid, you’re slotted into one of two groups pretty early on. Either you show a slight aptitude for reading, writing, or art, and boom you’re an arts kid. Or you’re slightly better at math and science and boom, you’re a STEM kid. That early designation goes on to affect how teachers treat you, and how you feel about yourself, for the rest of time. This might not be so useful to do to a child on a psychological level, but odds are it happened to you, and you’re one of the two. If you’ve clicked on this meme list, you’re probably a STEM kid.
There are a few stereotypes about STEM kids that need breaking. The world calls you geeky or loser-y. You’re cast aside as a brainiac, a likely social outcast. But you know that isn’t true. You just like numbers. Or robots. Or bacteria. Or animals. Or whatever it is that gets your left brain chugging.
