Anna Wintour’s $77 Go-To Lunch Is Getting Roasted and Ridiculed

Anna Wintour, Vogue’s longtime editor-in-chief, isn’t the most beloved media personality. The 72 year old (along with her signature bob) has mostly made a name for herself as alleged inspiration of The Devil Wears Pradaan uptight woman, with serious demands. Her steely countenance isn’t a surprise to many plebs. People with lots of money often lack the ability to connect, which is why Anna Wintour‘s biography (written by Amy Odell) is at the very bottom of our reading list. This placement was solidified after we learned some upsetting news about her incredibly privileged eating habits. 

It seems that after Conde Nast’s move to 1 World Trade Center, Anna Wintour’s «go-to» lunch was one that can be described both as quizzical and excessively expensive. Odell reveals that Wintour would order a steak and a Caprese salad – without the tomatoes. Sorry to any Italians reading this. The price on this bizarre meal is a hefty $77.40, which about $60 more than most workers drop for some midday grub. The revelation of this moneyed meal has gone viral, even inspiring a generous headline from Grub Street.
