Everywhere we look these days, it seems like artificial intelligence is creeping up on us. Anybody with an unhealthy amount of screentime has tried feeding prompts to an AI art generator these days, and people have even been using them to paint their portraits. 

In the past week, things have only got more impressive/terrifying with the public launch of ChatGPT, OpenAI’s cutting edge chatbot. It may have only been let loose last Wednesday, but today it had already surpassed 1 million users. The reason is simple: it seems to be scarily clever. Users are asking to write everything from poetry to code, and it seems to be pretty good at all of it. 

Plenty of technological commentators are already speculating on the seismic changes that it could bring to life as we know it. However, it looks like for now people are just having fun with its crazy range of capabilities, as well as cracking jokes about them. One step closer to our robot overlords!
