Corporate Influencers are Trying to Romanticize the 9-to-5, and It’s Not Working

Social media is full of aspirational content: Extensive beauty routines, constant travel, and suites of pricey products flood our feeds. But what about all of us with regular, unglamorous jobs? Turns out there are influencers for that too. So-called «9-to-5 influencers» like Davis Clarke and Connor Hubbard. They do their best to show that the corporate world can be influencer-worthy. They boast about their hustles, «lock in» to spreadsheets, and wrap up their days at a comfortable 5 pm. Though, while they try to make the corporate grind seem envy-worthy, they fail and instead make themselves seem more like soulless shills than earnest motivators.
