Italians get a lot of slack from Americans. Or at least, they used to. Italians used to be one of the most marginalized groups of immigrants in the 1800s and 1900s. However, as time has passed, the barriers to entering most industries have vanished for the children and grandchildren of Italian immigrants. One thing hasn’t vanished, though, and it’s Italian jokes. 

I don’t know why of all of the nationalities, I see Italians still getting roasted to this day. I think it has something to do with them being a socially acceptable group to rip on. It’s not punching down anymore, and thank God for that! Even the descendants of Irish immigrants don’t get any slack. Very few people are still making «Irish Need Not Apply» jokes, and honestly, I’m not entirely convinced «Irish Need Not Apply» jokes are a thing outside of my friend group. Anyways, if you’re an Italian who enjoys the light roasting of their people, these Italian memes might just hit the spot.
