‘Pay to get 1 work from home day’: Company tells workers that they get an extra WFH day if they donate $20 to charity

The freedom to do your job in your pajamas is the holy grail of the 21st-century corporate world.

Ever since the start of the decade, when many people had no choice but to do their jobs from home, remote work has been something that many employees have wanted to make a part of their working lives. Companies are aware of this, but for reasons ranging from micromanagement to office rent, they can sometimes be reticent to allow their workers to go hybrid.

There is no doubt about it, working from home is often viewed with some suspicion as it allows employees to do their thing without quite as much of a watchful eye over them. However, many businesses recognize that it is a valuable asset for a job to have, and they use it as a bargaining chip as a result. Like a lot of corporate life, it can become demeaning.
