People Reflect On The Dumb Generational Differences Between Attitudes To Work

It’s a tale as old as time: none of us will ever truly understand how hard our forefathers had it compared to our cushy, modern lives. Even our parents’ generation supposedly had to work for things in a way we didn’t, and some will have you believe that this is down to an attitude problem.

However, if the Wojak memes have taught us anything, it’s that the story isn’t always this simple. Many baby boomers were afforded levels of job, education and housing security not enjoyed by the younger generations, and it changed their attitude towards certain parts of life. This has been outlined in a powerful thread started by @KwallsDaDon

Reflecting on how older generations often encourage those who are younger to stay in a job they hate, many people came forward to explain some key differences between millennials and their parents and grandparents when it comes to work. The main takeaway seems to be that the current workforce is a lot less willing to put up with bullsh*t than those that came before them. Unfortunately, though, this seems to just give us more ammunition for the generation war.
