By and large, we’ve come a long way in welcoming LGBTQ+ identities as a society. However, there is still a long way to go and it’s a sad fact that not everybody is as accepting as they should be. This is especially true when it comes to family; parents disowning their children when they come out is still a way too common occurrence. Plenty of people have heard stories that begin like one recently posted on r/ProRevenge, about a sister-in-law who was kicked out of the house after coming out as a trans woman. As if that wasn’t enough, her parents took away thousands of dollars in savings and sold her car. 

Thankfully, all was not lost. Some family members were on her side, and they wasted no time in righting the wrongs that had been done to her. It so happened that the father in question was a businessman, and one of his main accounts was with the company that u/LivingBunch6371 worked at. After telling his boss what happened, he offered to switch the account if he could find somebody who offered the same service for a cheaper rate. While it took some time, they eventually managed to make the switch — crushing his father-in-law’s business in the meantime. There isn’t always a price to pay for being bigoted, but in this case it seems like the right side of history succeeded.
