If I ever want to feel even worse than usual, I think about how I was born into a generation that may well be forced to work until they die. Boomers really got the best of that sweet spot after the invention of trade unions and before the advent of the zero hour contract. This isn’t to say that work is uniformly bad — there are people who genuinely find what they do to be rewarding, and there are jobs out there that need to be done. 

Nonetheless, that doesn’t stop an alarming majority of people from struggling to make it from 9 until 5. If that wasn’t the case, then there  wouldn’t be so many memes with exactly that premise. At least the reluctant employees of this world have a lot of amusing content to remind them that they’re not alone. We will get through another week, one meme at a time.
