I don’t know anyone who has led a life without making any mistakes. I’d like to bet that those people don’t actually exist. Sure, some people are exceptional, like Mother Theresa or the Dalai Lama. They’ve dedicated their lives to helping others and they’ve done a great job of it. But I would bet my bottom dollar that Mother Theresa once accidentally called someone the wrong name. And I’d put money on the fact that the Dalai Lama once accidentally ate someone else’s yogurt from the fridge. Nobody is perfect.
And while it’s great to celebrate the success of others, it’s also important to acknowledge their shortcomings. We have to hold ourselves accountable or else we will never progress as a species. There is a fine line between acknowledging and over-acknowledging, though. We don’t want to make people feel too bad about their inevitable mistakes, except for in this list.
