It has been a mixed bag of updates in the world of Tolkien spinoffs this week, with The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power confirmed to have wrapped up filming season 3 and the sad news that a new Aragorn is going to be sought out for the projected 2027 release, The Hunt for Gollum. 

While all of the LOTR-related shows and movies that come out in the present day can sometimes prompt disappointed reactions from the dedicated Middle-earth fandom, it is nice to know that there is always new content on the horizon to look forward to. If all else fails, the original books and movies are never boring, either.
