What a weird feeling getting old is. You crave the past, but you want to live in the present. As you get older you start to think about your future, but somehow also miss the past. Like, what is going on here? Everyone said going through puberty would be confusing, but why didn’t anyone tell us how mind-boggling becoming an adult would be?? Millennials are now the adults on the chopping block entering their middle age—that’s your 30s and 40s, right? As a millennial myself, it becomes clearer and clearer that many of the adults I looked up to growing up most definitely did not have their sh*t together… Let’s remember happier times from the past though. Simple things like going to Blockbuster with your dad on a Friday night, your friend is sleeping over and you have the Pocahontas and Lion King sleeping bags ready. Your dad is letting you pick a movie for you and your friend to watch. You pick Jawbreaker and hid the R rating with your thumb when you showed your dad. It worked and now you and your bestie are braiding threads and beads into each other’s hair as you watch Rose McGowan do some sketchy things. Ahhhh, sweet sweet nostalgia.
