When I was a kid, my dad would always sing this little ditty about billboards. It went a little something like this.
«Oh build a billboard upon a hill, because a billboard gives me such a thrill. When I was younger and just a child those crazy billbaords drove me wild.»
This song begged more questions than it answered. First of all, what is the name of this song? It’s very difficult to Google «billboard song» and get any legible results, considering the ubiquity of the Billboard charts. I cannot find any evidence that this song ever existed outside of the one particular campfire my dad sat around in the late 60s or early 70s. Ignoring the song’s dubious origins, why would a billboard give someone a thrill? Unless it’s that waterfall billboard in Dallas, I’m pretty unthrilled by billboards. If you wish billboards had memes instead of ads, these memes might give you such a thrill.
