Sometimes real life has a way of feeling like science fiction. There have been so many advancements in technology that life can feel like it’s moving at the speed of light, like some kind of time-traveling spaceship. We’re all familiar with bends in the time-space continuum. We know that 8 hours feels like a lifetime at work and the blink of an eye while asleep. It’s its own form of time travel, after all. This is why we resonate with sci-fi so much. Because it’s not that different from the life we already live. It just exaggerates and dramatizes it to a degree that makes it fun to watch at the movie theater. It wouldn’t resonate with us as deeply if it weren’t a reflection of the human experience. 

It’s what we’re all doing anyway, just with some added technological advancements. It’s also why we keep coming back to sci-fi memes every week. They are not only reminders of our favorite shows, they’re reminders of how we feel about ourselves. Pretty deep for the intro to a meme list, no?
