You don’t have to have that much experience of the working world to realize that many businesses have a lackluster attitude to employee wellbeing. It’s often blatantly obvious when profit is put before people, but it’s not always as outrageous as an internal email from an unnamed company which has drawn a lot of negative attention recently.

The reason for the criticism was the way in which they acknowledged that their employees may wish to mourn the death of a co-worker. Many people were horrified, and many more had stories of their own to share when it came to the employers from hell. It’s not the kind of behavior you want to deal with at a place you spend 40 hours a week of your time.
