There’s something about the ideal relationship that seems to fascinate meme culture. Cynics might say it’s because it’s full of incels, but those who are more forgiving might suggest that there are a lot of us out there who are hopeless romantics. 

Either way, there are few things the internet likes more than a power couple — and they don’t always have to be on the level of Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly. The latest example of this is «She Was The Baddest, He Was The Realest», which takes two individuals and admires their real or imagined relationship dynamic. 

Given the range of characters used to occupy these two roles in the meme, what makes someone ‘bad’ or ‘real’ is definitely open to interpretation. All that matters is that with their partner, they make the kind of pairing you might be inclined to to stick in your scrapbook if you were a tween girl in a 90s coming of age movie. Couple goals never died, it just got memeified.
