Cheez-Its are my kryptonite. I can make those slightly greasy, salty squares of cheesy goodness disappear in mere minutes. And when I say «those» I mean a whole damn box. Usually when this mindless yet voracious eating occurs, I am under the influence of plant medicine that was recently legalized in New York. And I usually come to regret it. When I’m not regretting ingesting a box’s worth of these crackers, I am usually regretting ordering a crap ton of Taco Bell. Like, $20 worth of Taco Bell. It’s a struggle. And it looks like Taco Bell is trying to make my struggle with calorie intake a lot harder, because they’ve recently announced that they’re messing around with some (potential) new menu items. And they involve gigantic Cheez-Its.
The fast food company announced yesterday that their test kitchen was ready to debut both the «Big Cheez-It Tostada» and the «Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme,» both featuring a cheese cracker that is 16 times the size of the classic Cheez-Its.

«There are few things that everyone can agree on…but the iconic flavors from Taco Bell menu items and Cheez-It snacks appeal to all,» said Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s Chief Food Innovation Officer. «We’re thrilled about this new concept with Cheez-It, which gives our fans the chance to experience the real cheese and crunch they love from both of our brands in a whole new way.»

While this seems like a pretty exciting development for Taco Bell, weed, and diarrhea enthusiasts, we’ve got some bad news: the items are only available at one of their Irvine, California locations – and only for a two week period.
Fans inside and outside the accessible California zone are (predictably) freaking out about the announcement. While a few naysayers have said their piece, most people seem to be pretty stoked or pretty sad that they’re not closer to Irvine. And you know what? We’re with them.
