While some of us are still shaking off that Halloween spirit, others are fully embracing the holiday season. And honestly, yes, it is time to start thinking ahead. With how everyone’s shopping budget is looking this year, it would be smart to get a head start on you gifts. Perhaps everyone get a handmade present this year? One year, I was so broke, I bought a pack of hoodies in assorted colors for like $10, checked out a book from the library on how to embroider, and I made everyone costume hoodies. It actually turned out great. The price was only expensive in how much time it took. My paper thin bank account still allowed me to get groceries that year. And, unfortunately, it looks like I’m going to have to do something just as special (and cheap) again this year. I know I am not the only one in this boat, so let us laugh about it together.
Let’s get festive and laugh. Find humor in the absurdity of it all and remember that the holiday season isn’t about having a huge banquet for Thanksgiving or a mountain of presents for Christmas, it’s about spending time around the ones you love and appreciating the time you have with them.
