Companies Tweet One Word Summarizing Their Brands After Official Amtrak Account Accidentally Tweets «Trains»

Being on Twitter in 2018 could be a painful experience for various reasons, but none more painful than the never-ending onslaught of brands trying to be funny. You really had to be there, but if you weren’t, you are one of the lucky ones. Twitter brands would try to start beef with each other, form alliances with each other, and generally try to get attention for acting erratically. The most popular corporate Twitter was Wendy’s, but there were a lot of imitators trying to claim the title of the weirdest and «quirkiest» brand. My best friend even developed a friendship with the person who ran the Carl’s Jr. Twitter, and they sent them a Carl’s Jr-themed vinyl record. What an era.

Although quirky corporate Twitter accounts have largely fallen off in the past couple of years, we got a little taste of it yesterday when the official Amtrak Twitter account simply tweeted, «trains.» After that, loads of other brands got in on the casual fun, including the President of the United States.
