A lot of people have hot takes on destination weddings. They sound great in theory, and honestly, you can save a lot of money on the whole shebang. One of the most expensive parts is probably the plane tickets, which seems like a good trade-off for the bride and groom to get to celebrate their marriage at a beautiful getaway destination. The hot takes come in when you’re the guest of a destination wedding. You could either love the idea of getting away with your friends and family to celebrate such a big moment in an exciting new place, or you could absolutely dread the costs associated with it. And if you’re on the side of the latter, depending on who the wedding is for, you could feel completely forced to spend over your budget to be in attendance.
But that wasn’t the case for the wedding guests in this story. The bride’s brother and his wife made sure to book all of their accommodations early after they received the invitation. Everything was going smoothly leading up to the date until their dad dropped a bombshell. He nonchalantly mentioned that one month out from the trip, the bride and groom had already gotten married in another destination.
This story might be worse than what this couple did during their destination wedding.
