Sad Thread Explores The Reality Of Having An Unsympathetic Boss

Having an emotional breakdown in public is never a fun experience, but it can be even more humiliating when it’s in the workplace. Sorrow doesn’t have a schedule, and it can get pretty awkward when something prompts you to start crying on shift.

The only thing that could make it even worse is how your manager reacts. This was illustrated in a Twitter thread started by @raeking__ as she recounted her boss asking her to look at an email once she was «done crying».

It prompted others to share their own horror stories of supervisors being extremely unhelpful in moments of distress. While some had less sympathy for her, there’s no doubt that there is no easier way to create a toxic working environment than failing to relate to your employees.
