Workers Discuss Email Etiquette After Company Rejects Half of Employee’s Vacation Time Request

It is hard to believe how many people can’t craft a proper email. I didn’t wholly learn the art and science of professional emailing until I was a junior in college, and who knows where I would be if I didn’t take particular classes that taught me that. I’ll give you some general tips if you’re an amateur emailer. Don’t be overly wordy. You won’t sound cold if you cut right to the chase, trust me. Don’t thank someone in advance for something they haven’t agreed to do. Use a simple sign-off at the end of your emails. Direct language is far more professional than coming off as insecure. If you follow all of this advice, you’ll be an expert emailer in no time.

One worker with a weak email style went to Reddit to ask if his recent email to his boss was unprofessional or rude. It was both, so the workers of Reddit gave him several helpful pointers to help him ace his next important email.
