Even if you happen to be one of those eat-to-live types, it is highly likely that food takes up a significant proportion of your day (to say nothing of the rest of us). We have to identify when we’re hungry, decide what we want to eat, prepare or order our meal, clean up afterwards, and if we’re particularly health-conscious, think about the nutritional value of all that we are consuming as well.

It can all get quite overwhelming, even for those who consider food to be one of life’s great pleasures, leading to a retreat to the same old pattern of tried-and-true meals that get old eventually.
