Happy Hanukkah! It’s that time of the year when Jewish people, secular and religious alike, come together to celebrate the festival of lights. It is wild to me that candles could stay lit for eight days thousands of years ago. If you ask me, that sounds like a freakin miracle. But then again, I guess that’s why Hanukkah is a holiday in the first place!
As most Jews will tell you, Hanukkah isn’t the most important Jewish holiday at all. Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are literally the high holy days, and no other holiday is beating that. Hanukkah’s popularity is merely incidental, probably due to it being so close to Christmas during the holiday season. But that doesn’t make lighting candles, spinning the dreidel, chowing down latkes, and getting nightly presents any less fun. If you’re celebrating Hanukkah this year and need some hilarious Hanukkah memes to share with your family, these are sure to stay lit for a little over a week.
