Your parenting skills will never satisfy everyone.

So long as you’re alive, you will never live up to the standards each individual has for themselves and others. You can be the parent of the year in your own eyes, but lacking in your family’s perspective. That’s the thing about perception: Everybody has their own way of doing things, and so long as they’re unharmful, what reason do any of us have to ridicule someone else’s process?

Family will always have something to say, that’s a given. We hope that the smirk our sister shows us is out of coyness and not of malice, but our hope often disappoints us. Instead, we sit back and listen to the unwarranted criticisms from those around us because, even though they believe our parenting style is unsatisfactory, we know how much our children appreciate us and how well they behave.

The woman in the next story lashes out at her sister after an uncomfortable moment when her sister starts ridiculing the way she runs her household. The sister makes a dig at the woman’s parenting style, which, from our perspective, seems to lack nothing. Scroll to continue reading the story.
