Considering how it’s supposed to be the backbone of the society we live in, we sure do spend a lot of time trying to escape and recover from work. There are multiple industries built around the fact that the average working adult needs some kind of outlet to take their mind off of the stresses of their jobs — from our streaming subscriptions, to our favorite bars, to our all-inclusive vacations, they’re all geared around the fact that we want to forget that we all have to work.

You might think that employers would look around, see all the coping mechanisms that workers need to unwind, and decide that perhaps they should take a look at their working conditions. Unfortunately, that’s an all too rare occurrence, but at least we do have all these methods of escapism to fall back on. While our bosses might not always understand our pain, the memes certainly will.
