Boss Demands Employee Only ‘Bother’ Them in Emergencies, Gets Schooled With Malicious Compliance

Communication. It’s a vital part of many things in life, but one place where it is of paramount importance is in the workplace. Failing to give instructions and failing to listen are two of the main things that can get us into some sticky situations when it comes to our jobs.

Nonetheless, communication issues are one of the most common problems that many of us come across when we’re working. It’s a scenario that u/IlikethequietZeppo found themselves in when they worked in a café. When their boss ended up having to help cover a shift with them, they got annoyed that the inexperienced employee had a lot of questions about how things should be done. Eventually telling the worker to only ‘bother’ them if it was an emergency, the Redditor kept true to the instruction — which turned out to be exactly the wrong thing to say.

People had no choice but to respect the malicious compliance involved, especially as it came with a side order of revenge. That manager should have been more professional.
