Although it’s obvious we are constantly surrounded by stupidity, harshly judging someone else’s intelligence can feel mean or unnecessary. I think MENSA and IQ test-obsessed people are extremely weird and need to stop hanging onto the glory of getting a 1580 on their SATs. Being unjudgemental is all well and good until you have to work with someone who isn’t the sharpest crayon in the box. One of my friends had an intern who was the same age as her (27), and he was so stupid that he couldn’t figure out how to throw out all of the trash in the office properly. He would take the little trash bags from the bathroom and the kitchen and throw them out individually instead of putting them all in one big trash bag to dispose of all at once. If you can’t take out the trash at 27 years old, I don’t know what to tell you.
