According to various philosophy quote memes, «To know thyself is the beginning of wisdom» was coined by Socrates, Aristotle, and Pythagoras! Maybe they all stood together in the Agora and said the quotation simultaneously after collaborating on it during a writing exercise, but I highly doubt that for some reason. In reality, the most concrete origin of the maxim «know thyself» was inscribed on the Temple of Apollo in Delphi. Again, maybe those three boys all took turns carving the letters together, but I don’t think they were mainly known for their stone penmanship. 

Whoever coined «know thyself,» they were right! If you know who you are, you won’t waste time thinking about how you could’ve been everybody else. The following memes know their strengths and weaknesses, and they aren’t insecure about how other memes are funnier, more colorful, wittier, or more popular.
