Estranged family members have a funny habit of coming up out of the woodwork when you finally feel like you’re forgetting about all the emotional turmoil their absence put you through. Well, you didn’t forget about it; you might have just almost managed to make it hurt a little bit less. Then, here come the absent father of 15 years and his new wife and stepchildren, and all of a sudden, you revert to the baby he left without any second thoughts years prior.
