It’s springtime, which means the socialites are coming out of hibernation, planning baby showers, graduation parties, birthday celebrations, and weddings galore. To an introvert, the end of winter isn’t the glorious change in seasons that it is for most, it’s the dawn of a new era of RSVP excuses and obligatory appearances.
One of my favorite parts of spring is the return of fair-weather hiking. I love being outdoors in nature with the feeling of the sun on my face, the dirt on my ankles, and a crushed PB&J in my backpack for lunch. However, enjoying the splendors of solitude in nature is getting more and more difficult. As we all know, crowded trails and Bluetooth speakers on a hike are worse than a full blast of sunscreen in your eye.
As I search for solo trails, so do my other fellow introverts seek the same glorious solo adventures that beget us for spring. May the event dates be ever in your favor this year.
