As much as it is fun and quite liberating to own a car, some people do not find it to be a necessity. For those who fully work from home, those who live in a crowded city when everything is within walking distance, and those who manage to rely plenty on public transportation, a car is not something they feel the need to bother themselves with.

Though it’s great to know that if you have a car, you can go wherever you want, it is also a lot of work and responsibility. Even setting aside the financial burden of maintaining a car, there are enough reasons why one decides they don’t want or need to buy one. And the idea of others using you to drive them around, kind of like the parents in the story below are doing, is a good enough reason if you ask us.
