Midwesterners love to party. And it’s Friday, so you know what that means.

It’s time to round up the bros, get a case of Miller Lite from your local Quik Trip, find a patio, and get the weekend going. Yeah, it’s October, but it’s still nice enough out to spend all evening on someone’s porch in those metal chairs that seem to be everywhere. This is actually peak Midwestern time. It’s not the sweltering heat of summer, and it’s not the stifling cold of winter. We have energy to do things because we’re not so exhausted by the heat, and yet there is still just enough light in the day for us to make use of our energy. It’s fleeting, though, and might come with some rain or some unexpected fog. It’s still the Midwest, after all, as unpredictable as ever. 

But there are a few things you can rely on. There will always be brats at the grocery store. There will always be salads that have nothing to do with actual salad. And there will always be memes for us Midwesterners to enjoy.
